Board Members Individually Endorse US Senate Candidates

Racine County GOP does not endorse a single candidate but many

The Racine County Republican Party Board of Directors has discussed the possibility of endorsing a candidate for US Senate and we have come to the conclusion that all four of our Republican Candidates will be able to defeat the ultra-liberal Madisonite the State Democrat Party has put up to replace Senator Kohl.

Therefore since we as a board are divided on who we support we felt that we may be able to provide some guidance to our members by expressing some of our personal endorsements.

Bill Folk, Chairman, endorses Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald.

Dona Poelman, Vice Chairman, endorses Eric Hovde.

Lou D’Abbraccio, elected board member, endorses Eric Hovde.

Sue Ermert, elected board member, endorses Governor Tommy Thompson.

Mike Gabbey, appointed board member, endorses Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald.

Bill Jaeck, appointed board member, endorses Governor Tommy Thompson.

Nancy Milholland, appointed board member, endorses Eric Hovde.

Tamra Varebrook, WRoseW delegate, endorses Eric Hovde.

URGENT!!!! -- Spring election 2011

We were informed over the weekend that the AFL-CIO is sticking their nose into a couple uncontested races in Caledonia. There seems to be some concern over a proposed Walmart coming to the area and the union has decided to put up a few write-in candidates last minute.

Union bullying has been rampant here in Racine County so don't let them win this one.

Here is a link to the mailing:

Supporters of these "candidates" claim that the union has nothing to do with it but you can clearly see that the union paid for this the question is why are the "candidates" and their supporters lying?

Believe in Caledonia and do not write-in a union bully.

Spring election 2011

The Racine County Republican Party has received nearly as many calls for this spring election as we have in prior fall elections so we are quite confident that conservatives will once again prevail throughout Racine County. As in the past the Republican Party does not normally endorse spring candidates because the races are "non-partisan" however we are more than willing to point out the party members and those that are on our side. This list is for known contested races and only contains those individuals that we believe will help our conservative cause:

Supreme Court race - Justice Dave Prosser

County Executive - Jim Ladwig

RUSD Referendums - NO

Caledonia - Duane Michalski

Mt. Pleasant - President (wirte-in) = Shaman Turek Trustee = Joseph Malin

VOTE - Tuesday, April 5th!!

Awards Presented at Racine GOP Lincoln Day Dinner

Racine County GOP Recognizes Kevin Cronin as this year's Anita Hunt Award Winner

On Friday, March 25, 2011, the Racine County Republican Party recognized Kevin Cronin and County Executive William "Mac" McReynolds for their commitment to the Racine County Republican Party, State and Local Elected Officials and their ongoing desire to make Racine and Wisconsin a better place to live.

In honor of Anita Hunt, a long time conservative activist for the Racine County Republican Party, this award is given annually to a volunteer that has continued to serve the community, the candidates, and the party in an ongoing role. Kevin Cronin has been active with the county party for just over 2 years and has impressed people at all levels.

"Kevin is very committed to the conservative cause. So committed in fact that I continually get messages from other counties about his efforts for them," stated Bill Folk, Racine County GOP Chairman, "He is a force to reckon with and I can only imagine what the years ahead will bring for him and us."

In addition to the Anita Hunt award, this year the Racine County Republican Party recognized retiring County Executive William "Mac" McReynolds for his years of public service to Racine County as both the County Sheriff and most recently as County Executive.

"Mac's commitment to the people of Racine County should be honored by everyone in the county. He has done what needed to be done without a lot of political pretense," stated Chairman Folk. "Mac truly is a man of his word and a good friend to the County Party."

Republican Assemblymen Vote for the Budget Repair Bill

State Senate Democrats still on the run

After seventeen hours of public hearing and over sixty hours of assembly debate, Walker's Budget Repair Bill passed the State Assembly early this morning. With today being the deadline to refinance a portion of our debt State Senate Democrats are still running around Illinois trying to delay the Senate vote.

The Racine County Republican Party is proud to say that our local Republican Party Assemblymen all are on the record for this bill.

"Conservatives of Racine County know where their elected officials stand on this bill and are happy to be represented by them," stated Racine County Republican Party Chairman Bill Folk. "However, with all the debate over this bill I'm sure that Union leaders will not be so happy to hear that one of the most outspoken Assemblymen against this bill, Racine's own Cory Mason (D), did not represent them when it came time to vote." Rep. Mason is recorded as 'Not Voting' on the official roll call vote.

"We already hear the minority leader claiming that this was rammed through but the reality is that they acted like their Senate colleagues and did not represent their constituents by voting for or against this bill," said Chairman Folk. "With how passionate (Rep.) Mason was at the rallies earlier this week you would have thought that he would want to be on the record voting 'No' for this bill. Once again he (Mason) brings shame to his party and Racine County."
