Feingold Should Put His Money Where His Mouth Is

MADISON – Since Senator Russ Feingold has been trying to perpetuate the myth that he’s been taking on the special interests his entire career, the Republican Party of Wisconsinis calling on Feingold to return the special interest money he’s been taking in his entire career.

Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Reince Priebus said if Feingold wants to denounce special interests as a campaign issue, he shouldn’t be using special interest dollars to get that message out.

“Despite criticizing special interests when it seems like a good issue, Russ Feingold continues to accept their contributions and spend their cash,” Priebus said. “He’s even got his own Political Action Committee in order to accept even more special interest money and push it around to vulnerable Democrats across the nation.”

Priebus said with millions of dollars in special interest money collected, Feingold has a clear choice: return the millions of dollars in special interest cash or stop attempting to fool voters into thinking won’t accept the contributions by publicly denouncing them.

“It’s time for Russ Feingold to come clean. Give the money back,” Priebus said.
