Democrats Disparaging Taxpayers, Again

September 21, 2009

Dear Conservative Friends,

Democratic leaders are at it again. Now that they control our state and federal government, taxpayers are on the hook for unprecedented new government spending and taxes. But when taxpayers tell them enough is enough, instead of listening, they ridicule those who raise opposition to their big government schemes.

We all remember when Speaker Pelosi called us “un-American” for voicing our concerns about the Democrats’ health care experiment, but we’ve almost come to expect that type of behavior from far-left San Francisco liberals.

Unfortunately, Democratic leaders right here in Wisconsin don’t seem to think much more of taxpayers than Nancy Pelosi does. Following a Milwaukee Taxpayers’ Tea Party this weekend that attracted nearly 10,000 people, the leader of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Mike Tate, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

“These are extremist elements pulling together, distinct vocal minorities that frankly don't believe in this country," Tate said. "They don't want to see more people have access to quality affordable health care; they don't want clean air and water. They fundamentally don't understand how the American government, economy and capitalism work."

Tate’s comments are simply appalling.

Have you had enough?

We have. We’re working day and night to stop the radical agenda of the Democrats and bring about the real reforms that will get our state and nation back on track.

We believe rallying against massive new spending and new government involvement in ourhealth care system is about the most American thing we can do.

We are energized and leading the fight against new spending, a job-killing cap-and-tax bill, and dangerous health care experiments, but we know there would be no fight without you and your voice.

We’ve got to say thank you to the thousands of Wisconsin citizens who are getting involved for the first time now that they see the consequences of unchecked government.

Can you continue to help? The fight to take our country back is far from over. Please considerwriting letters to the editor, contacting your elected officials, and visiting our health care action web site.

We also need financial resources to keep up this fight by distributing literature or buying radio and TV ads, and your donation of any amount will go a long way in helping us elect leaders who believe in our state, believe in our nation, and who will listen to the concerns of the people instead of dismissing them with insults. Please consider making a quick, secure donation, even if it’s for the first time, by clicking here.

Again, thank you. We’re in this together, and we’re simply not going to allow the Democrats to walk all over the taxpayers without a fight. It’s not the American way.

Sincerely,

Reince Priebus Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin
