Thank You, Mr. Speaker!
Thank you to former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich for his generous support of our campaign, and to the 800 people who were in Milwaukee to hear our message.
Speaker Gingrich told reporters that voters will be eager to elect new Republican leaders to the state and federal levels next year. "When you look at the scale of spending in Washington, people are going to be desperate by October of 2010 to have a choice that is for less spending, lower taxes, more take-home pay and more jobs," he said.
Speaker Gingrich was an amazing guest with a deeply important message, and we appreciate his support and encouragement of our campaign.

Michael W. Grebe to Serve as Campaign Chairman
In addition to our wildly successful fundraiser with Newt Gingrich, I am excited to announce that former Republican Party ofWisconsin Chairman and National Committeeman Michael W. Grebe, has agreed to chair our campaign for Governor.
Michael W. Grebe is currently the President and CEO of the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation in Milwaukee. Mr. Grebe served on the Bradley Board of Directors for six years before being named president. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Grebe was the Chairman and CEO of Foley & Lardner, one of the country’s largest law firms, where he was a partner for more than 25 years.
Mike is also a Vietnam War veteran who has served on boards for many distinguished organizations including: the United States Military Academy, the Wisconsin Board of Veterans Affairs, the University of Wisconsin's Board of Regents, Stanford's Hoover Institution, the Oshkosh Truck Company, and the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. He currently serves on the board of The Philanthropy Roundtable.
Mike is a respected and influential leader on issues ranging from education to economic development. His experience will be vitally important as we work diligently to put Wisconsin’s economy back on track. I am truly honored that Mike has agreed to help lead our campaign to victory.
Endorsements Keep Rolling In
We are proud to announce that Republican National Committeewoman Mary Buestrin has endorsed our campaign for Governor. Mary has been a respected Republican Party leader at the state and national levels for many years, and I am truly honored to have her support.
She is joined by over 150 current and former Republican Party officials that support my candidacy. Those important endorsements, coupled with the fact that 93.4% of participants at the State Convention last May chose this campaign over others, show that we have an overwhelming amount of support among the state’s top GOP activists.
Governor Puts Government Ahead of Taxpayers
On Monday, Governor Doyle signed a state budget into law that will surely cripple Wisconsin’s economy.
With so many Wisconsin families and employers struggling to make ends meet, it is difficult to fathom how Governor Doyle can raise taxes and fees by more than $3 billion to fund a 6.3% increase in new government spending.
According to the Governor’s spin, his budget protects the middle class. Nothing could be farther from the truth. This budget protects government at the expense of Wisconsin families and employers.
The Governor’s most important duty is to be the chief advocate for business and job growth in Wisconsin. But our state lost over 133,000 jobs in the last year, and Governor Doyle’s budget will do nothing to help reverse this trend. He has failed to deliver a budget that can get Wisconsin working again.
Together, we can do better. We can take back the East Wing of the Capitol next year and put Wisconsin back to work.
With hard work and determination, we can build a Wisconsin that we can believe in again.
